The smell of clean leather, the sound of hooves on hard ground, the feel of silky mane running between fingers, the sight of seeing them gallop across the field in pure bliss, head up, tail flagged, nostrils flared, the unparalleled feeling of contentment after a day spent together. There is nothing in life that can fill every sense like a horse can. They can elate you to levels you never knew possible, bring you to your knees when they are sick or ready to leave our physical world, and comfort us when we are feeling bad. Horses are not a hobby for Lucinda. They are a lifestyle.

As a young girl, Lucinda’s parents fueled the fire of her passion for horses, allowing her the opportunity to ride, train, trail ride and show some great horses. Her Mom’s old Tennessee Walker Stallion, Talisman, was the catalyst for steering her towards the Beautiful Tennessee Walker breed. He was a gentle soul that would let the kids pull on his tail, climb up the fence and slip onto him bareback or travel for miles on the trail with children on his back. The family’s next stallion, All Mighty Pride, who was a product of her father’s breeding program, filled Talisman’s shoes and then some. He became her trail horse, trick horse and the family breeding stallion in Lucinda’s teens and is now living a happy retirement in Pennsylvania. |
After School, it was Lucinda’s goal to work in the corporate world while maintaining amateur status and catch riding for her sister and training her own horses. As luck would have it, others saw her potential for starting and molding young horses into great athletes and began to seek out her assistance, not only as a trainer but as a riding instructor. In the fall of 2005, Lucinda began Symmetry Stables and the rest is history.

During the past five years, she has combined her Mom’s teachings of great ground work and solid equitation with studies of her own that include Dressage, Natural Horsemanship and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, to help build a stronger bond and partnership between the horse and the people they own. It is a combination of these philosophies that keep each horse and human fit, happy and healthy. |
